In an excited conversation with “Kristy,” Amelie spotted her assistant quickly approaching. She hoped whatever news he was about to disturb her with was important. She was trying to woo Kristy and her husband into bed. Kristy was just to her liking, dark and young, and her husband—sexy, and looked to be packing something really juicy between his legs.

"Excuse me for a second," Amelie said with a slight bow of her head and met the baldhead man who wore bug-eyed glasses halfway.

Bisa watched them closely as the man whispered into Amelie's ear then searched the crowd. She tucked the few strands of hair behind her ear, putting her finger to the earpiece. "Something is going on. It looks like Amelie is searching for the head of her security. I think it is best we make our exit."

"Okay, Bisa. We rendezvous at the hotel."

"What is it, Talisha?" Zafeer asked.

"There is a possibility someone tipped-off Amelie to what we are doing. So we need to go."

Zafeer wrapped his arm around Talisha 's slim waist and ushered her toward the door out of the ballroom.

"Albert, how are you looking?" Talisha asked with her finger to her earpiece.

"We are just about to cross the finish line and head out," Albert replied as he stared at Anada bending awkwardly through the last row of infrared sensor lights.

"What is it, Amelie?" Jules asked as he walked up.

"I just received a call from Masahiro saying there is a chance I am being robbed for the Irish Crown jewels," Amelie whispered low enough for only his ear to hear.

He didn't need her to say anymore. He unclipped the walkie-talkie from his waistband. "I need all security to meet me at the west wing of the chateau." He held out his arm toward the doorway that led to the stairs.

Albert and Anada stepped to the side as Amelie and her security team rushed past them and up the stairs. Once they were out of sight, they quickly headed for the door.

When Amelie saw the gate to the west wing open, she barged her way through the security guards. Jules stopped her from entering.

"No, Ms. Laffite, stay here." Jules drew the Glock from his hip holster. He motioned for four guards then proceeded down the west wing.

The anticipation was too much for Amelie to bear so she pushed her way up to the gate. "Well?"

Jules inched up to the open door that held Amelie's most prized possession—the Irish Crown Jewels, a diamond encrusted brooch and earrings. They had been part of the most Illustrious Order of St. Patrick, stolen from Dublin castle. He unhooked the walkie-talkie from his waistband and lifted it to his mouth. "Attention security, do not let any guest leave unless they have been searched."

When Jules looked to Amelie and shook his head, she exploded with rage as she snatched up a fifty-thousand dollar vase and slammed it to the floor. Those jewels were her most prized possession next to her fashion magazine. She would make whoever was responsible pay dearly.
